JEM CASSAR-DAILY:

Since the start of Jem Cassar-Daley's blooming career, we've seen the Meanjin-based artist only continue to beat her own personal best. Both of her first two singles "Letting Go" and "Changes" earned her instant Triple J Unearthed radio rotations, massive Spotify editorial playlisting support, and her debut headline tour of Queensland. Now, the artist is bringing us another 'gem' ahead of her upcoming EP, with her new single"Like it More" - out March 18.

Jem recorded "Like it More" with Tom Eggert at his studio in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Tom recorded, mixed and produced the track, while Matthew Gray mastered it. There's also a special guest feature from Michael Rose (Vela, Breakfast with Friends) on steel guitar.

Quickly becoming a master of soulful indie-pop, Jem says, "Tia Gostelow and I started writing this track last year and had so much fun with it. 'Like it More' captures the moment of realisation after a breakup that you can be happy with your own company. I was going through a really tough time last year with my boyfriend at the time, and I was able to do a lot of writing and collaborations which was such a great outlet for me..."

"...For anyone going through a breakup, this song is a how-to guide on how to back yourself and learn to be your own best friend."

Jem’s captivating performances, stellar vocals and timeless songwriting have earnt her a 2022 Queensland Music Awards nomination, a debut headline Queensland tour, impressive Spotify editorial playlisting support, nationwide press, and a spot on several festival line ups, including the upcoming Jungle Love.

In her first year as a breakthrough solo artist, she became a finalist for the Smugglers of Light Foundation Music and Media Award 2022, played the 2021 Brisbane Lord Mayor's Christmas Carol's, and received the 2021 Australia Council of the Arts KickStart Grant
